Fender pickup replacement?
I have a Fender deluxe blackout telecaster, which is unusual in that it has three pickups, like a stratocaster. I want to change the middle pickup to something with a fatter sound and higher output, but should I be looking at strat middle pickups or tele neck pickups as replacements?
I also want to rewire my 5-way pickup switch to neck, neck and middle, neck and bridge, middle and bridge, bridge, but I don't see any problem with doing that, and it'll be done in a guitar shop by someone who knows what he's doing 
There's nothing impossible there, as long as the replacement pickup will physically fit in the space (don't do something crackhead stupid like try to stuff a humbucker in there). You *do* want to make note that if you put in something *too* much higher output than the neck and bridge pickups, and you rewire that 5-way, the middle pickup will tend to overpower the neck+middle and bridge+middle selections, making them less useful (you'll end up with 3 effective settings - neck, bridge, and 3 in between that all sound pretty much like middle).
