Vintage Analog Delay
Welcome to my site! We have the Vintage Analog Delay information that you are looking for.

What cheap guitar pedals are best to sound like a mixture of The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys?
I am considering buying an Electro-Harmonix Little Big Muff and a Behringer Vintage Analog Delay VD400. Are these good choices?
You really can't go wrong with the Little Big Muff. I'm not really sure about that delay.
You should get these various essentials:
Danelectro Fish and Chips (EQ Pedal)
Danelectro Surf and Turf (Compressor)
Boss NS-2 (Noise Suppressor)
And then you can get other various pedals for other effects.
Wah:
Ibanez Weeping Demon (I have it and recommend it)
Morley Bad Horsie
Vox Big Bad Wah
Dunlop Crybaby
Chorus:
Boss CH-1 Super Chorus (I have it and recommend it)
Electro-Harmonix Small Clone (Great analog chorus pedal, and probably more along the lines of any chorus effect in those genres)
Danelectro FAB Chorus (I tried it, it's a decent pedal for $15 on Musician's Friend)
Phaser: (I personally don't own any phasers, but I've tried some of these)
MXR M-101 Phaser
Boss PH-3 Phase Shifter
Flanger:
Boss BF-3 Flanger
MXR EVH-117 (Van Halen Signature phaser)
Danelectro Fab Flange (again, for $15 you got a decent budget pedal)
Tremolo:
Voodoo Lab Tremolo
Danelectro CT-1
Boss TR-2
Also, it wouldn't hurt to get a Boss Acoustic Simulator (AC-3). I use one, and in combination with the Super Chorus, it sounds great.
I hope this helps.

Moog Music MF104Z MoogerFooger Analog Delay Pedal $699 The MoogerFooger MF104Z Analog Delay is a genuine, professional-quality, all-analog delay processor designed for floor, table-top, or rack mount use. The MF104Z has delay times as short as 50 milliseconds to as long as 1000 milliseconds. Like all Moogerfoogers, the MF-104Z sounds fantastic and has the famous user flexibility that's built-in to all Moogerfoogers. One Full Second of analog delay time makes the MF-104Z the longest standalone analog delay module on the market. That’s exciting but the reason many of you have been clamoring for Moog to build a delay (again) is the unmistakable sound, quality, and flexibility of this newest Moogerfooger. Moog originally offered its first analog delay in 2000. Today the original MF-104 is one of the more sought after vintage pedals on the market. The new MF-104Z, also designed by Bob Moog, will, no doubt, take its place along side the original and offers extended delay times previously unavailable. MoogerFooger MF-104Z Analog Delay Features DELAY TIME: Rotary control, which adjusts the delay time from slightly less than 50 milliseconds to slightly more than 1000msec (1 second), depending on the setting of the SHORT-LONG switch. MIX: Rotary control, which adjusts the mix between the direct and the delayed signals. FEEDBACK: Rotary control, which adjusts the amount of delayed signal that is fed back to the input. INT. LOOP-EXT. LOOP: Switch routes the feedback either directly or through an external effects processor that you hook up. For example, inserting the MF-102 Ring Modulator in the feedback loop will create echoes that change timbre as they die out. DRIVE: Rotary control, which adjusts the gain of the audio input to the delay. OUTPUT LEVEL: Rotary control, which balances the delayed signal with the bypassed signal. LOOP GAIN: Rotary control, which sets the gain of the external feedback loop. LEVEL: A three-color LED that is used to set the DRIVE control. LOOP LEVEL: A LED that aids in setting the external loop level. BYPASS: A two-color LED that tells whether the delay is active or bypassed. ON/BYPASS: A rugged, smooth-acting stomp switch . Jack Panel Features AUDIO IN: 1/4-inch phone jack - accepts any instrument-level or line-level audio signal. MIX OUT: 1/4-inch phone jack - delivers the delayed and the direct signals, depending on the setting of the MIX control. DELAY OUT: 1/4-inch phone jack - delivers just the delayed signal. TIME, MIX, FEEDBACK: All of which are stereo 1/4-inch jacks that accept moogerfooger EP1 (or equivalent) expression pedals, or control voltages from two-circuit or three-circuit 1/4-inch jacks. LOOP IN: 1/4-inch phone jack - provides access to the feedback loop for connecting an external processor. LOOP OUT: 1/4-inch phone jack - provides access to the feedback loop for connecting an external processor. +9V POWER INPUT J |

Maxon 9-Series AD-9 Pro Analog Delay Pedal $337.5 Maxon designed the 9-Series AD-9 Pro Analog Delay Pedal to be the best sounding, most reliable analog delay ever. Improved construction including through-hole, glass reinforced epoxy PCB's, snap-in PCB connectors, and true bypass switching guarantee trouble free performance. The combination of one Panasonic MN3205 BBD IC and one Signetics NE570 compander provides warm yet crystal-clear delay time with adjustable repeats and zero clock noise. The AD-9 Delay Pedal captures all the classic sounds of the most sought-after vintage analog delay units. With 10-300 milliseconds of variable delay time provided by a Panasonic MN3205 (low voltage BBD IC, now out of production), the AD-9 Analog Delay can produce a wide variety of time-delay effects, from Rock-A-Billy slapback echo to erratic, runaway delays. The Maxon AD-9's Repeat control provides additional spatial effects by adjusting the repeats from one to infinity to emulate various room sizes. Calibrated for self-oscillation, the AD-9 is an analog delay pedal capable of "UFO landing" effects as well as many other bizarre sounds limited only by your imagination. The AD-9 stompbox's Delay Level control adjusts the mix between dry and effected signals, allowing the delayed signal to sit back behind the input signal to add subtle ambience or right up in front for greater impact. Stereo outputs provide a variety of signal routing options for use with multiple amplifier setups or mixer channels. All sounds are provided with zero clock noise thanks to one Signetics NE570 compander and true bypass switching using a 4PDT mechanical switch.Since their introduction in the early 1980's, Maxon 9-Series designs have achieved a legendary, almost mythical status with pedal connoisseurs around the globe. The reasons for this are simple — superior sound quality and innovative features that offer a seamless interface between performer and performance — nothing more, nothing less. 20 years later this rule still holds true. Now available with improved circuitry including true bypass switching, Maxon 9-Series effects remain the standard by which all others are judged. |

The modern mode mirrors your original sound with full clarity and fidelity, and will fit any style of music. As its name suggests, the vintage mode delivers the sound of a classic tape delay unit. Gentle modulation is also applied in the vintage mode, reproducing the slight warbling produced by a tape-based delay. The amazing effectiveness is the result of an uncompromising process of testing and refining carried out by Joe and VOX. |

Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man XO Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal $313.5 Musicians love it and collectors cherish it. Nothing can compare to the organic sound of analog delay, especially when it's from the Deluxe Memory Man. Up to 550ms of vibrant echo that rivals tape delay. Lush, spatial chorus and haunting vibrato are just a few of the treats in the Memory Man's sonic smorgasbord. The pedal features the exact same warm analog circuit, with premium, vintage, integrated circuits, all housed in a more pedalboard-friendly enclosure. The Blend control allows you to vary the mix of direct and delayed signals, and the center-position setting equals out both levels. Feedback provides delay repeats, or multiple echoes. Fairly high feedback with short delay settings produces a reverb effect. The Delay control determines the time between direct and delayed signals, and between the repeats when feedback is used. Strange, eerie, and unusual pitch-shift effects can be produced by changing the delay, while playing—especially while using feedback. The Chorus/Vibrato control introduces a modulation in the delay time: slow for chorus, faster for vibrato. This produces a "Doppler" pitch shifting in the delayed signal. A rich, vibrant chorus effect is produced with the switch set to chorus, delay fairly short, blend at the center, chorus set high, and feedback fairly high. |

Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal $116.25 The MD-3 is the World's Smallest Delay - for price, size, and sound, it cannot be beat. Its new circuit offers 2600 mS delay with 60 mA current draw so it uses less batteries. It's warmer sounding than other digitals and reacts like an analog delay. The MD-3 has been called the best digital delay by Guitar , Guitar Player , and Guitar World magazines, and Praised by Keyboard and Vintage Guitar Justin Meldal-Johnson from Beck who has one taped to his Bass so he can adjust settings as he plays. Also used by David Torn - world-famous looping guitarist/producer. Designed with the performing musician in mind, Guyatone Micro Effect pedals offer unparalleled sound quality in an incredibly compact (2.75 inches W x 3.875 inches L x 1.5 inches H, max weight 9 oz.) format, all at a very competitive price. A favorite of professional touring musicians, Guyatone Micro Effects are built to stand the rigors of the road. Stamped steel chassis, glass-epoxy PC boards and high-quality components guarantee trouble-free performance. In addition, each Guyatone Micro Effect is quality-tested by an actual musician prior to shipment and comes with a three-year parts and labor warranty. THE BEST DIGITAL DELAY AVAILABLE The quote above may sound like a lot of hype, but when major publications like Guitar Player , Guitar World , and Guitar One, all say the same thing, you have to start taking notice! Just what is so great about the MD-2? Quite simply, it offers the most authentic note reproduction of any delay device available, period. Notes come back exactly as you played them: Not rounder, harsher, warmer, colder, or altered in any manner whatsoever. If you've ever played a tape echo, you know that their tone is not dark sounding like some people claim, but actually quite bright and clear. The MD-2 gives the user the crispness and clarity of a tape echo combined with the longer delay time of a digital, while its controls react like an analog unit. 30 - 800 milliseconds of delay time are available, more than enough to create an entire range of classic delay effects from Rockabilly slapback to Arena-rock washes of excess and everything in between. At higher Feedback settings (above 2 o'clock) the MD-2 will self-oscillate like an analog delay, creating cacophonous cascades of repeats, UFO-landings, ray guns, and other bizarre sound effects. At lower Feedback settings (around 2 o'clock) the MD-2 can be used for multi-layering of short parts, creating beautiful, ethereal soundscapes that slowly fade into infinity. Quite possibly the smallest delay, unarguably the best: Try the MD-2 and discover what perfection is all about! Guyatone Artists Include... Lenny Kravitz – WR2 David Torn – MD2, WR2, SV2, FB-X, MD-3 Mike Tempesta (Powerman 5000) – WR2, VTX, FB-X Justin Me |
