my guitar input jack broken..?
umm not really broken but when i put the cord in my guitar it pushes out and its not really a firm grasp on the cord so it is easy to pull out help plzz

from what im gathering from your question the problem lies in the mechanism that internally holds the cord in place. most plugs clips into bent metal "fingers" or ball bearings, or the like. but the constant putting in and pulling out wears them done and they can expand too wide to hold on. if you still get sound out of it the cheap way to get it to stay is to push it in as far as it can go into the jack and tape it into place, the cord to the body, and leave it. you should take it to a shop and have it looked at, it may need simple adjusting so those "fingers" can grasp the plug anew. whatll happen if its not holding, is that soon the current that produces sound to be taken to amp wont be able to connect enough to bother. you may be able to take the pickguard, or the back, depending on what kind of guitar you have, off and adjust them, or the plug holder may need to be replaced altogether. the problem may be, when you take it to a shop, is that they wont have individual parts, and may have to replace the entire guts of the guitar- which can get pricey. but i wouldn't recommend doing it youself, the innards are too thin and sensitive, even dust can destroy the sound of the guitar, and you'll have to either replace the guts anyway, or keep having to spray it with air to remove the crud.
