Pocket PC/Blackberry demo needed ASAP?
I would like to buy a Pocket PC (or possibly something similar) but every store I've visted, altho they have Pocket PCs on display, don't have the product connected to the internet. I will be using the Pocket PC almost exclusively for stock trading so I must find out how a typical brokerage web page and stock streamer will look. But how can I evaluate a product that is not turned on? 1) Can someone please advise me where I can find a store with a Pocket PC that allows me to view what web pages will look like on it (I live in Los Angeles/Ventura County area). 2) Is there a website that displays a Pocket PC demo so I can at least see screen shots of web pages? 3) Can someone tell me what I can expect web pages to look like on a Pocket PC--I assume there will be a lots of scrolling required and some types of pages will not display properly.
..and no, I don't know anyone who has one that I can look at.
Most Windows Mobile devices do NOT work with Java Script, which many applications from banks and brokerages require. Blackberry does work with Java Script - this is something to keep in mind.
(If you go with the Pocket PC - look into extended battery, you will needit)
I don't live in LA so I cannot help with a store, besides, to see if this device is best for your needs, you have to be able to try it - not look at a web designers view of what he saw on the device.
As far as screen views, it depends on the designer of the website. Many websites have mobile versions made to fit on the screen, otherwise, yes there would be a lot of scrolling.
