How hard is it to learn electric guitar if you already play acoustic (with picking style) ?

hi. i play the piano and the acoustic guitar but i'm thinking of joining a band and i wanna be able to play a couple of solos. just a few set songs. no improvisation just yet...maybe when i get good...

Pretty hard, I have a friend that plays an electric guitar, and it took him about a year to get as good as he is now!
